If you’re ever in doubt of where to go, we’d recommend heading to Cornwall. We’d rather spend our Summer holidays there rather than heading overseas (we always regret the idea from the moment Ryanair start weighing my hand luggage). The Scarlet Hotel is the new breed of eco hotels finished to the highest possible spec and boy, does it impress. Made famous for its spa and jaw-dropping vistas, you can send the parents away for a body-buffing break safe in the knowledge the location has it all. With Padstow round the corner, there are plenty of foodie delights to hit the gastronomic mark on their doorstep. If you can tear yourselves from the Scarlet that is.
You might be pleased to know that children are not welcome either. Tranquil, calm and dreamy are the order of the day for this couples’ only retreat.
