Driving up to the country estate that is the Rectory, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve turned up to a stately home by mistake. But never fear as this period-featured masterpiece actually welcomes young children and families with open arms, a welcome surprise when faced with other such stuffy establishments. Take your swimmers to enjoy the beautiful pool safe in the knowledge that there’ll be no disapproving stares for once when the kids are screaming their heads off.
With locally foraged food, heavy on the slow-cooking processes, alongside an organic menu for the kids you’re likely to avoid any supper meltdowns, from kid or adult. They also have the fabulous Potting Shed Pub at the end of the drive to mix things up a little mid-weekend.
Just think…they do one night stays, babysitting is a mere phone call away (at a superbly reasonable £8 an hour), baby monitors and cots can be provided and your canine companions go free. Oh and if you were worried about parking, they do indeed have space for your helicopter on the top lawn. Phew.
