With one of the finest locations our UK shores has to offer it’s no wonder The Pig on the Beach chose Studland Bay as the location of their latest offering (hence The Pig on the Beach being its name). Having recently opened to rave reviews, this 23-bedroom country house hotel is the perfect retreat for a weekend.
As with their other properties they’ve got their hands muddy to create their kitchen garden which is the main port of call for all the produce you see on your stay from the herb gardens and fruit cages right through to their pet pigs (perhaps don’t get too attached to Percy just yet). The menu is unsurprisingly seasonal but unpretentious with a wood-fired oven for their breads and pizza and hearty salads all featuring.
The rooms are their pièce de résistance and don’t be put off by the lack of breakfast in the room rate as all rooms come with ‘larders’ brimming with snacks and the spoiling Nespresso machines. Whether you’re in the snug rooms at the cheaper end of the spectrum or the super spoiling dovecotes you’ll benefit from the most wonderful views tempting you to jump out of bed in the morning to go and explore the headland.
