Good pub grub in the rather sophisticated surroundings of The Havelock Tavern has meant this down-to-earth pub in the heart of Brook Green has remained unpretentious. Great staff and a superb seasonal menu (everything here is made in-house) means you can also expect some culinary surprises such as octopus, tomato and chickpea stew. A favourite of royal foodie Tom Parker-Bowles, there’ll be great people watching and a scrum of friendly dogs to wade through (they’re very canine friendly here). Grab a bottle of red wine of a Sunday afternoon and prepare to settle in. It has an excellent wine list which is reviewed seasonally and the best local and regional beers with the trusty Doom Bar and Mad Goose on tap. A great one to impress the man in your life.
