Queen of Hoxton

Tick your daily cultural dosage in one fail swoop by booking into the Queen of Hoxton. What with it being a gallery, club and pub there is no excuse to ever leave. With a highly colourful client list, grab your mates and head to the table football or just enjoy the playlist.

This winter, from 27th October, Queen of Hoxton will be transforming their rooftop into a space inspired by all things Nordic. Rather apt we feel what with the obsession with Game of Thrones and Vikings. This winter you can channel your own inner viking in their Winter Wigwam. Presided over by Skye (she’s the Shield Maiden of the Viking longboat don’t you know), you can feast in her toasty warm Wigwam with wood chippings underfoot to give off that forest feel, or brave the winter air, warming yourself by one of the many fire pits dotted around the rooftop and roasting marshmallows. You’ll drink ‘Thor’s Courage’ from drinking horns and toast good health with ‘Freya’s Dandelion Love Elixir’ (which should come with a health warning combining elderflower liquer and dandelion-infused vodka which would knock any hearty drinker’s socks off). We love the ‘Blood of Loki’, a warming mixture of whisky, port and ginger, a perfect addition with which to brave the elements. The Nordic theme continues with their ‘Skye Halla’ food menu; Vigrid’s Venison Meatballs, Hodhr’s pork belly hotpot and Gunnar’s Goulash are rich, hearty portions served with sides of red cabbage and the like, that are guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit.

You may come over all Jon Snow when stepping into this mystical land but the Queen of Hoxton shows how to put fun into a night on the town. Those without a sense of humour need not apply.
