Claude’s Kitchen

Now remember a big bill doesn’t always equate to a good time. Hailing from his oh-so-dreamy location at Petersham Nurseries, Claude Compton has brought rustic charm and excellent cooking to Claude’s Kitchen – an unassuming building in a Sloaney hangout. The champagne bar downstairs is a hint to why they flock here but upstairs is a gem all its own.

With the fish arriving daily with love from small boats in from Cornwall, the menu delivers on big flavours. None of the meaty fish mains even go over the £20 mark. I’d go just for the Maldon Salted Caramel Cloud combining whichever food of choice is in season at the time. October welcomes beetroot, carrot and apple ice. Seasonal food at its best.
