Ida Restaurant

Ida is one of our favourite neighbourhood spots for a delicious meal out with friends. Located in trendy Queens Park, Ida Restaurant is run by husband and wife team, Simonetta and Avi, and the atmosphere and welcome here is hard to beat. With their Italian roots, they have created an Italian-inspired menu, heavy on pasta dishes that are home-made and pack a punch with flavour. With the recipes passed down from their Italian relations, you can really taste the difference here: the home-made gnocchi with aubergine and smoked mozzarella is simple but effective and we challenge you to find a better tagliatelle draped in their slow-cooked beef and pork ragoût.

For those of you keen to avoid the carbs, do not fear. With premium rib-eye steak and fresh parchment-wrapped mackerel there are alternatives for you watching your waistline but it would be sacrilegious to come here and not dine out on their Italian treats. Expect simple Sicilian wine with your meal and little fuss. Here is a neighbourhood restaurant relying on their natural hospitality rather than fancy wine lists.

Available for private hire, it’s no wonder Charles Campion called this place “a hidden gem”. Known amongst the Queens Park locals, this is reliably excellent fare at extremely reasonable prices.
