It’s worth the drive to wind up at The Wellington Arms – this little corner of Hampshire heaven. Jason and Simon have finished it to the highest spec and when they say they source locally they’re not kidding. They know their hens by name and a polytunnel out the back supplies the greens. Little surprise the menu is fabulous and it’s one of Giles Coren’s faves. Sleep over in one of their high-beamed bedrooms filled with Aesop in the shower and Nespresso by the bed. How very posh.
