The River Café

Ok, so it’s not cheap but you either hope the parents bring out their credit card or suck it up and treat them. The River Café, one of London’s finest, brings the simple flavours and smells of the finest Italian dishes with a serious side helping of refinement. Famously opened by Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray, it earned (and has since retained) its Michelin star as far back as 1997, famously training some of our most notable chefs (Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall both cut their teeth here as well as Sam and Sam Clark of Moro). With glorious views over the Thames it’s a prime lunch spot a mere stone’s throw from the hectic Hammersmith traffic. Never has there been a better reason to get out of the car and kick back here for an afternoon. Perfect for impressing in-laws and clients.
