A Cotswold classic, The Feathered Nest Country Inn is one of our favourites. With all the appropriate labels – ‘Best Pub of the Year 2013 no less – expect unbelievably good food (undoubtedly the highlight of your stay).
You might have to stay 7 nights to avoid withdrawal symptoms when you leave the menu behind. I’m booking my return to sample the grouse accompanied with celeriac pudding and local damson jam. Yum.
They have kitted out, as Goldilocks would say, ‘Just right’. All muted pastel bed linen, Brissi-style headboards and the obligatory Nespresso machine. Breakfast is served in the Garden Room with views to jump out of bed for.
