Heckfield Place

It’s only been a casual 10-years in the making and 6 years in development. Heckfield Place is surely one of the most anticipated hotel openings in UK history.

Opening its doors in the summer of 2018, this former Georgian family home in the heart of a 400-acre estate, has been utterly transformed into a one-stop-shop featuring rest and relaxation at the highest degree. It also happens to boast the holy grail of luxury hotels, being a mere 1-hour from London by car or train. Gone are the days of trying to sort the babysitter whilst you plot your escape on a Friday afternoon to the Cotswolds. Instead, we can instead now opt for a mere hop to Hook in Hampshire for some seriously decadent relaxation.

Food is headed up by Culinary Director, Skye Gyngell (her of Spring in Somerset House and Petersham Nurseries fame). The main restaurant, Marle, focusses on simplicity, serving local produce that can go straight to the plate. Hearth is open on Friday and Saturday evenings which cooks up a storm with their open fire concept.

For now, the Little Bothy is used for in-house spa treatments alongside the incredibly chic Bodyism for one-on-one personal training. Their Big Bothy is set to open in 2019, which will deliver a larger spa and infinity pool to hotel guests, letting it sit comfortably amongst the heavy hitters in the world of luxury spa hotels.

All in all, Heckfield Place is likely to become the darling of the UK weekend retreat. Amazingly, you can even bring the kids with you. This might be the exact place to leave them at home, but children’s menus and activities are available for those who can’t do a night without them.
