Imagine an oasis of calm, a mere stone’s throw from the frantic pace of Oxford Street, and you have likely found your way to the 5* Mayfair hotel, The Beaumont. From the team behind The Wolseley, the Corbin & King group opened its first hotel venture in 2014 attracting plenty of famous faces and savvy travellers in-the-know from the outset. From its secret spa, the thoughtful Art Deco-inspired design and its lively restaurant, its one of our favourite hotels when in London.
With a number of dining options – The American Bar and The Colony Grill Room – there are plenty of spaces for non-guests to enjoy but The Beaumont really comes into its own for the hotel guests. The bedrooms are designed with a nod to the US Prohibition era with modern mirrors, cleverly designed writing tables that transform into dressing tables with a classic, vintage feel. Every piece of original art that adorns the walls was handpicked by the owner himself and no two artworks are the same. The artistic theme continues with Anthony Gormley’s ROOM suite; a one-bedroom suite built within a 742ft² oak-clad structure where you can spend the night in the only habitable sculpture in the world.
Making Conde Nast Traveller’s Hot List in 2015, make use of the fantastic downstairs spa with treatment rooms, hammam and marble cold plunge pool but our highlight is the hotel’s very own vintage Daimler. Formerly owned by the Queen Mother no less, it shuttles guests on a complimentary basis to any London landmark within a mile’s radius. Talk about the Royal treatment.
