21212 Restaurant with Rooms

Since opening their restaurant in 2009, Paul Kitching and his partner Katie have made waves on the Scottish food scene, being awarded (and keeping hold of) their Michelin star in 2010 and named as the restaurant of year in 2012, it’s every foodie’s first port of call when in Edinburgh. Their 21212 Restaurant with rooms boasts an enviable location, a mere stone’s throw from Princes Street and Edinburgh’s Waverley station, so with their addition of four perfectly formed bedrooms means you can literally have your cake and eat it, settling into to stay at the best restaurant in town.

Their 38-seater restaurant is housed within one of the stunning Georgian townhouses that Edinburgh is known for; high ceilings and period features really show off the architecture in all its glory. Paul’s five course weekend menu changes every week so even returning diners will experience a different meal altogether on each visit and his French training shines through. With 3 choices for each course you can expect a serious nod to the phenomenal seafood they can showcase and the puddings are insane.

With one night stays being permitted at the weekends, it’s one of our favourite suggestions for a special weekend away. The bedrooms are generous in size and kitted out in a contemporary style, with two of the rooms benefiting from stunning views to the Firth of Forth. A real Scottish masterpiece.
