That possibly had something to do with the incredible hotel I was staying at, Lily of the Valley, which has to be seen to be believed. It’s quite hard to impress me nowadays when it comes to hotels. There’s a real je ne sais quoi needed that combines incredible style, impeccable service and an atmosphere which immediately puts you at ease. Which is why @monumentathens left such an impression on me. This was the first stop on our honeymoon (amazingly chosen as a surprise by my incredible husband @hugokok_architect without knowing it was top of my bucket list!) and it wowed us in every single way. From the moment you walk through the doors you escape the hustle and bustle of a busy city and are met with calm and elegance. They painstakingly restored this listed building over the course of 5 years with incredible detail to the decor culminating in nine rooms, a dining area with honesty bar and private wellness centre ensuring the property feels very much like a private residence. It’s truly one of my favourite hotels ever 💛

On honeymoon and in love with the new @oderatinos on the magical island of #Tinos. I have done lots of Greek island-hopping by now (with Serifos, Sifnos and Folegandros top of the list) but Tinos has to be one of my all-time favourites. It’s utterly charming in every way. From their resident pelican Markos who happened to greet us off the ferry to the unquestionably high-end food they’re producing, Tinos can rival Sifnos with the quality of restaurants we found here. Odera is one of the best hotels I’ve visited in a while; each room boasts its own pool and clear sea views as far as the eye can see. They have their own private beach club on site that you can walk down to with ease and a beach restaurant that is surprisingly good value. The design of the hotel is top-notch and that’s reflected also in the design of the rooms. They accept children but I would say it’s more of an adult getaway perfect for those shoulder seasons to avoid the crowds and soak up the reliable weather (we had 31 degrees in late September)

I’m staying at Oku Kos, a laid-back, adult-only retreat on Kos’s northern coastline with its own beach club and incredible spa with a holistic message that runs throughout. Surprising me at every turn, Folegandros is the island that just keeps on giving. From unspoilt beaches with white sand underfoot, boat trips to crowdless grottos and one of the prettiest Chora’s I ever did see, this is the island that has it all. To me, it felt like the Capri of Greece (without the hordes of crowds and crazy prices). With only three towns to its name, you can drive the length of the island in its entirety in 15 minutes. Spend your days swimming in crystal clear waters, sipping a lemoncello spritz aside the freshest seafood before an evening spent amongst a town that feels like it’s straight out of a film set 💛

With one of the prettiest port towns of them all, Sifnos delights from the moment you step off the boat. Slightly more on the tourist route, the island remains uncrowded for the most part as long as you stay off the beaten track. Getting around with a car is very easy though. We loved the picturesque laid-back fishing village of Vathi with its sandy beach and friendly service and sundowner drinks perched atop the medieval walls of Kastro has to be seen to be believed. The island’s culinary fame is down to one man, Nikolaos Tselementes, a Sifnian chef who wrote the most famous Greek cookbook, and foodies are drawn here for the plethora of fabulous restaurants. In fact, we had just missed Obama who had been dining at Cantina the week before us!

Laid-back, discreet and utterly charming, Serifos

Laid-back, discreet and utterly charming, Serifos is the perfect first stop on the tour of the Cyclades. Close to Athens, it’s an easy ferry ride from the mainland. Known as the ‘Iron Lady’ for her mining past, the landscape is stunning and yet almost stark in places. The island is tiny (you can drive round the whole of it in under an hour), beaches are sandy and the water is crystal clear. There’s an insanely good winery, secret monasteries with doorbells (!) and a charmingly authentic Chora perched precariously on the side of a cliff

We found the people here incredibly warm and welcoming so lunchtime pit stops down bumpy tracks become long drawn out lunches with cheery locals keen to share their delicious food and local delicacies with a dog at your feet! 🇬🇷

“The short overview is that Nepal is a wonderful country full of history and amazing geography, and the people are incredibly welcoming. The star of the show is definitely the Himalayas - the first image you see flying in is an imposing wall of white, and they only get better the closer you get.

We never had to think about the logistics of the trip as this was arranged seamlessly in the background, meaning we could focus on enjoying the holiday. Both guides were excellent and we felt that they were always there if we needed anything.

Totally fell in love with Porto on my recent visit. It’s thoroughly charming with its winding cobbled UNESCO-listed streets to explore, delicious tapas at every turn, vintage trams (that whizz you to the nearby beach for the day), historic sites and beautiful architecture and of course, their infamous port wine. Its also incredible value for money. I mean really quite astoundingly good value.
