Wrestle your way to the bar at the Tommy Tucker as word has sadly got out. Fulham now has an edge. With Claude Compton (from the acclaimed Claude’s Kitchen) bringing magic to the former pub on Waterford Road transformingit into a Soho-style eatery. Barmen are distinctly better looking than average at the Tommy Tucker as are the clientele; expect plenty of honeyed limbs sitting at the bar attracting admiring glances from the equally desirable South West London male contingent.
Bar snacks feature mackerel sliders with chorizo and spicy crab cakes but take a table and your gang to work your way through the gin cured trout, king scallops with creamed corn and popcorn (yes, popcorn) and ‘rub-a-dub’ burgers laden with smoked mayo and pickles. Luckily they do take reservations for those of you who like to pre-plan or chance it and hope you get a seat at the bar. The closer to the bar staff the better.
