We realise our ‘alternative’ pubs have a recurring theme of being situated in East London rather than South of the river. Good on those crazy creative types pushing the boundaries otherwise we’d all still be drinking Archers & lemonade in a pub chain. The Water Poet crams in up to 150 punters to watch sport, play pool or house large private parties. Great for boozing, it comes into its own in the Summer months, its pub garden teeming with as much noise and fun you can muster under one roof. Hailed as a ‘multi-tasking backstreet boozer’, it even has a cinema room in the basement and pool tables galore. There really is no need to leave whatever the weather.
