Being one of the longest-standing public houses in South West London is no mean feat maintaining their reputation as the locals’ favourite in a world where people change their manicurist once a week. Loyalty is a hard thing to find in the fast-moving London restaurant scene but The Sands End delivers some of the finest pub grub we’ve found. Seasonal, fresh ingredients are key. If you don’t fill up on the bar snacks (the scotch eggs are a Fulham favourite) there’s steak tartare with focaccia crostini, crispy seabass with honeyed aubergine to follow and a chilled chocolate fondant with salted caramel and popcorn ice-cream if you want to push the boat (and belly) out.
