From the interiors to the food, everything at The Elgin is top notch. Firstly, you can expect the food to take centre stage; labneh with smoked sea salt, lamb fritters, potted smoked salmon with sourdough and crispy cod cheeks pad out their ‘small plates’ menu. They work only with the best suppliers for their meat and fish alongside local beers and carefully sourced coffee from Coleman Coffee Roasters. It’s very much a pub atmosphere with added finesse. In fact it’s everything a ‘gastropub’ should be (much as we hate the word and how twee it has become). The atmosphere is one of long boozy lunches with good friends. Book immediately and impress the in-laws.
