It is quite unbelievable that Medlar only opened in Chelsea in 2012 and was the owners’ first venture in the restaurant world. With a pedigree of the Savoy Grill and Chez Bruce, Medlar is in fact totally unique by offering unbelievable memorable food in an unpretentious environment.
This is modern French food in very English surroundings. With impeccable service don’t be put off by the white tablecloth surroundings. They’re pretty laid back here even with a Michelin star. Jay Rayner described it’s “as good as it gets” and we can wholeheartedly agree, what with the crab ravioli with samphire standing out for us followed by our steamed stone bass with a ginger and mushroom broth.
Wow the parents or your other half. It’ll be an evening to remember.
