Fera at Claridges

They’ve lured Simon Rogan from his Cumbrian outpost L’Enclume to open Fera at Claridges in the heart of Mayfair and oh how thankful we are. Selfishly it saves us on the train fare up North. A notable feather in his cap being at the helm of Fera, bringing his experience of nature via his rustic charm to a London institution. Having installed a vegetable garden out the back, he continues his championing of local produce to present the most beautifully crafted dishes with the most delicate of presentation. Expect to be lulled into a dining experience like no other; it’s pale green surroundings echo the food you eat and yes, it’s certainly fine dining but we love the simplicity of his dishes rooted in the ingredients that come fresh from their farms. Roasted pumpkin with sprout tops and chanterelles, cod and parsley mousse, salted chocolate cream with bergamot nitro all showcase the natural, wild ingredients they source from the New Forest to Cartmel.
