Finding oneself near the gritter side of Islington you’d be foolish to think you’re out of ideas for nice pubs once past the comfort of Caledonian Road. The Swimmer at The Grafton is a gem of a watering hole set behind the bustling Holloway Road with a roaring log fire giving the feel of a warm hug once inside the door.
We would be quite happy working our way through the excellent drinks list (be sure to try the Cidre Bouchée which is alarmingly quaffable). In fact it’s the perfect setting for a Sunday afternoon date cosying up in a booth together by the fire. Tuesday nights are Quiz night but we don’t need any excuse to settle in at The Swimmer.
