Askham Hall is a revelation slickly converting a stately home into a stylish offering in the Lake District having lost none of it’s old worlde charm.
The rooms are certainly a good place to spend the weekend but it’s Askham’s grounds that are the crowning glory. The kitchen garden supplies the restaurant and the on-site café is the perfect teatime pitstop for those green-fingered types (the 230 foot herb border will take hours to explore).
Plus they’ve only gone and spoilt us with a heated outdoor pool and a sauna. Take your cossie and order a glass of bubbles for poolside relaxing.
