Surely the most relaxing place to while away a Sunday morning we love No 32 Old Town in Clapham for a super-stylish backdrop for a day of Bloody Mary drinking. With an outdoor terrace and evening DJ slots we’re reluctant to let you know our secret weekend hangout. Start off with a reliably excellent brunch heading for their famed sourdough bruschetta with tomatoes, avocado and bacon (perfect for any hangover) or pork sausage brioche sandwich. All the food is cooked from fresh with a nod to seasonal, local ingredients so expect a short, concise menu that gets it exactly right. If you’re heading there for lunch or dinner it’s hard to choose; steamed mussels with lemongrass and ginger, chicken and leed pies or burgers oozing with Montgomery cheddar.
The cocktail menu is also a pleasant surprise. We love the watermelon and coconut sour and find it difficult not to find an excuse for this to pair it with our eggs benedict if drinking wasn’t so frowned upon before midday. House made spirits and sherberts have jazzed up their classic cocktails to a whole new level. Great for people watching and open until 1am at the weekends you wonder why we’re not here every night of the week.
