Well worth the battle with the M1, the Star at Harome is an eccentric little number brimming with character and individuality. The 9-bedrooms all offer something a little different whether you fancy a bath at the end of your bed or room that come with its own pool table or piano, there’s something for everyone.
Across the road is their famed pub & restaurant with a heavy emphasis on Yorkshire greats all sourced from the great North Yorkshire surrounding countryside. Local pheasants supply the eggs, the Harome chickens give up their livers (poor blighters) and the Whitby lobsters present their buttered selves. But what we love is the local feel to the place with mis-matched antiques welcoming you in for a weekend of slurping the local ales and becoming one of the regulars.
You’ve got local towns to explore if needs must but they do offer one night stays so if you’re in the area of a weekend be sure to pop in. It’s incredibly good value for one of Yorkshire’s finest.
