The Imperial

The Imperial has seen many an owner try and re-jig this part of Chelsea avoiding the stomping footfall of the Chelsea fans.  Where others failed before them, the current owners have royally succeeded, bringing an oasis of calm to what was a former watering hole and nothing more. Moving away from its former public house home, now lies within a chic restaurant that conjures up long drawn out lunches with an air of holiday happiness. Think stripped back timber in a courtyard sunspot and you’ve got your Ibiza lunch spot in the heart of Fulham.

Don’t expect a pub menu, instead serving up crisp and light dishes with a touch of delicacy about them all (yes, even the burger). Salmon sashimi mouli salad topped with edible flowers, slow roasted pork belly with soy and miso and steamed cornish mussels with pear champagne, lemon and parsley cream and garlic show the full breadth of their kitchen. One to impress the in-laws, the girlfriend or even take the kids. We hope their sun trap remains a secret this summer but we doubt it’ll remain our secret for long.
