Our favourite chef, Tom Kerridge, has made Marlow quite the destination since his arrival with the Hand and Flowers in 2005 gaining 2 Michelin stars to the pub’s humble beginnings as a watering hole. Banish the thoughts of aromatic foams instead sitting down to simple, beautifully cooked food which benefits from arriving on an empty stomach. You need to find room for salt cod scotch eggs, slow-cooked duck breast with duck fat chips and pistachio cake with mango sorbet. Suites come with hot tubs for a romantic finish. They have since introduced a reservations system with a maximum advance booking of three months meaning you avoid the pain of working your way through dates up to a year in advance in order to get a table (it really does quite lose its shine if the reservations process is a nightmare).
