Dormy House

Welcome to what surely is one of the most inviting spas we ever did see. No wonder then that Dormy House wins all the awards. With a £10 million refurbishmen, this 18th century farmhouse boasts views over the beautiful Cotswold valley, securing its spot as our first port of call when in need of some serious R&R.

The Dormy House spa is a sanctuary to improve body and soul. A heated infinity pool is the perfect place to lie on a lounger for the day with a good book. Or hop in the hydrothrapy hot tub on the terrace for some al fresco relaxation. The Thermal Suite is inspired by Scandinavian therapy techniques; lie back and de-stress in the lavender-infused sauna, Finnish cabin and salt steam room. For the more adventurous, the House Spa’s Mud Room showcases the rather more unusual hot mineral mud bathing. Either way, expect most of your stay to be spent in a robe.

With two restaurants to choose from – the Potting Shed and fine dining Garden Restaurant – there’s plenty of choice if you are here for a longer stay. Take a seat at the oak bar in the Potting Shed and work your way through the British menu. Or book in for the fantastic tasting menu in the more formal setting of the Garden Restaurant. On sunny days, order their Merry Hamper and head off to explore the Farncombe Estate with a bottle of bubbles.

There’s so much to do locally (golf, Sudeley Castle, rambling and Cotswold Farm Park are all on your doorstep) but seeing as the rooms are quite so beautiful and the spa quite so chic, you might just be happy to be left in peace for the day by the pool.
