The eponymous Chelsea landmark La Poule au Pot offers long drawn-out lunches watching the Sloanes battle their shopping bags home from their weekly shopping trips to Daylesford Organic. In the summer months pitch up for one of their al fresco spots in the square where you can browse the weekly market or fawn over Nikki Tibbles flower shop next door. It’s really no wonder that this low-key French bistro has stood the test of time but in fact have kept a rather simplistic menu throughout their Chelsea reign. The set lunch is an affordable fine weather option (£23 for 2 courses / £26.50 for 3 courses) or head inside for a romantic evening in the cosy chalet style interior. You can’t go wrong with their simple but excellent French classics.
