What’s the word on everyone’s lips in travel this year? Apparently indecipherable Greek islands by the sounds of things. If I see one more post about #Milos, I might just scream (namely only because I wish I could teleport myself there immediately).
The fashion crowd / travel crowd / Instagram influencers all seem to have flocked to one of the Greek islands this summer. We have seemingly gone back in time; think 1970’s perms, Mamma Mia dungarees and low-budget island hopping on tiny, white-washed boats that are captained by a man who is inevitably called Stavros.

WHERE TO STAY: The Beach House, AntiParos
WHY TO GO: Expect back-to-basic surroundings with chi-chi clientele. Hang out with the celeb crowd (the island has played host to Madonna and Matthew McConaughey) on an island that is devoted to its understated ways. It can be reached by ferry in 4 hours from Athens or 30 minutes from Paros Airport.

WHY TO GO: Well, you need to get there before every Instagrammer on the planet pitches up to take their Insta-worthy shot. This is one of the most picturesque of the islands. It also has over 70 beaches. Yes, you read that correctly. 70. In fact, we can’t think of a reason why NOT to go. The flight from Athens takes a mere 35 minutes.
NAXOS
WHERE TO STAY: Naxian on the Beach Hotel
WHY TO GO: The beaches here are just the BEST. You could work your way through them on a sunbathing marathon (there are also windier options for those who enjoy windsurfing and kitesurfing on the south coast) but then they have a lively capital to keep you entertained as the sun goes down. Team with Santorini and take the 2-hour ferry ride to Naxos.
PAROS
