Two miles off the A40, Artist Residence Oxford is set in a 16th century farmhouse boasting a thatched roof, carved oak panelling and flagged stone floors. Expect neon furnishings sitting comfortably beside inglenook fireplaces, William Morris floral wallpapers and quirky sculptures atop the bar. Join locals for a pint at the bar, read the paper or play cards by the fire. On sunny days, you can enjoy lunch in the charming courtyard and garden.
